Mark the shaft for reinstallation. Remove the tape or rubber band and set the u joint cups into the pinion yoke on the differential.

How to remove u joints.
Prepare a container for the fluid and disengage the transmissions drain plug.
Remove the old u joint.
Steps lift up the front end of a vehicle with a floor jack.
Slide under the car and insert the transmission end of the driveshaft into the tailshaft of the transmission until it bottoms out.
Remove the internalexternal c clips or press out the injected ring of polymer holding the u.
Dislodge the fill plug for the transmission.

Retainers or snap rings are used to secure the bearing cups and these must be removed next.
Install the new u joint.
Protect your driveshaft by replacing a worn u joint.
Remove the u bolts then slide the driveshaft forward into the transmission with a large screwdriver.
Compare the new u joint to the old one to ensure that its exactly the same size.
Slide to the differential side and raise the tail of the driveshaft into position.
Place jack stands under the front end of the frame to ensure stability.
Empty the transmission fluid in order to prevent it from leaking.
